The service
Joday is a public directory and map for Gujarati diasporas. You pin a city, you may list cities you have lived, and you may write a back story. Other members can read that. Joday does not offer chat, direct messages, or follows. We may change or discontinue features.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13. You must use a Google account you are allowed to use. You are responsible for that account.
Your content
You keep ownership of stories and other text you post. You grant DataBeeper a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content on Joday so the directory and Expand can function. You promise you have the right to post it, and that it is not unlawful, hateful, or someone else’s private information.
Acceptable use
Do not impersonate others, scrape the directory, attack the site, post spam, or use Joday to harass people. City pins are for the city you are actually in or have lived — not a joke coordinate. We may remove content or close an account that breaks these terms.
Location
Current city is taken from GPS if you allow it, otherwise from IP, then snapped to city, state, and country. Exact coordinates are not kept. Location on Joday is public at that city grain.
No professional advice
Profiles and stories are written by members. Joday is not a visa, legal, housing, or employment service. You use other people’s information at your own risk.
Disclaimers
Joday is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, DataBeeper disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the directory is complete or that every pin is accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, DataBeeper is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost opportunities, arising from Joday. Our total liability for any claim relating to Joday is limited to fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). Some places do not allow these limits; in those places they apply only as far as the law allows. This does not limit liability that California law says cannot be limited.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify DataBeeper LLC and its people against claims that arise from your content or your misuse of Joday.
Termination
You may stop using Joday at any time. Email databeeper@gmail.com to request deletion of your account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, ignoring conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Santa Clara County, California, have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date above will change. Continued use after a post means you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using Joday and ask us to delete your account.
